Dream Exit is a collection of black and white portraits, fragile traces of the faces that Muriel Guingand encountered in her dreams.
Muriel Guingand has the ability to exit a lucid dream at will.This places her among the small percentage of people capable of doing more than simply becoming aware that they dream.
Where most people merely recognize that they are dreaming, she crosses the threshold, she acts, she extracts herself.
We can act. We can extract ourselves from the dream.
Lucid dreaming occurs when one becomes aware that one is dreaming, while still in the dream.
Dream Exit unveils fragments of this crossing: faces, ephemeral presences encountered in the in-between world of sleep.
